Grand Bassam is a town located on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea. It has been the capital of the country until the end of the 19th century, and has a commercial importance on account of its harbour. The site of the city is a composition of Ebrié Lagoon (Agneby), Potou Lagoon (Mé) and the mouth of the river Comoé. It's a real ecologic sanctuary.

In this picture you can see the beach between the sea and the lagoon. The city of Grand Bassam is located in this small part of sand.
